LASIK Surgery at Eye Care of San Diego

Dr. Bokosky can perform laser vision correction “bladelessly” using the IntraLase laser platform. During bladeless or “all-laser” LASIK, he uses a femtosecond laser to create a flap in the cornea and an excimer laser to reshape the cornea so light can properly pass through it and focus on the retina. The laser treatment itself takes less than a minute. When Dr. Bokosky is finished reshaping the cornea, he restores the corneal flap to its original position, where it heals itself.

CustomVue WaveScan technology offers unparalleled laser vision correction outcomes. Prior to surgery, the WaveScan technology captures detailed information about the optical system to create a “fingerprint” of the eye’s imperfections. This information is used to calibrate the laser that reshapes the cornea during treatment.

The recovery from traditional and bladeless LASIK is normally short and well tolerated. Patients can see clearly as soon as a day or two after surgery. Depending on the specific technology used, patients can achieve 20/20 vision, or better.
