More About Vision Correction at Hoopes Vision
The eye surgeons of Hoopes Vision perform the latest Wavefront-optimized bladeless-LASIK eye surgery, which allows them to offer each patient a customized vision correction treatment with maximum safety, comfort and optimal results. Wavefront-Optimized IntraLASIK not only eliminates possible complications associated with a surgical blade (microkeratome), it reduces the possibility of halos and glare at night (spherical aberrations) by preserving the natural curvature of the eye.
When performing LASIK, the eye surgeons of Hoopes Vision begin by obtaining a diagnostic “map” of the patient’s unique refractive errors. Next, anesthetic eye drops are administered for maximum comfort, and the iFS IntraLase laser is used to create the corneal flap, a thin piece of tissue that is lifted back from the eye. An excimer laser, previously calibrated to deliver customized treatment, is then used to reshape the underlying cornea, thereby eliminating most visual flaws, including nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Finally, the corneal flap is placed back to its original position, protecting the eye during the healing process. When performed by the skilled eye surgeons of Hoopes Vision, most patients achieve excellent vision within 24 hours following LASIK and are able to greatly reduce their need for corrective eyewear. Hoopes Vision eye surgeons also offer PRK for patients who are not good candidates for LASIK.
