LASIK/PRK in Central New Jersey
During LASIK surgery, a flap is created in the outer cornea and gently folded back to reveal the underlying tissue. (PRK is different in that no flap is created.) The underlying corneal tissue is reshaped to improve the curvature of the cornea. With a newly improved shape, the cornea is able to precisely focus incoming light. After a brief recovery period, the patient’s vision is significantly improved to the extent that they rarely need glasses or contact lenses.
