Eric D. Donnenfeld, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained specialist in vision correction surgery. He is among the most experienced LASIK surgeons in the country having performed more than 40,000 laser vision correction procedures. More About Dr. Donnenfeld

Dr. Donnenfeld is the medical director for the TLC Laser Eye Centers in Garden City and Connecticut. He is a national medical adviser for TLC. He has chosen the best wavefront-guided technology to perform laser vision correction for his patients. Dr. Donnenfeld is one of the only surgeons to offer his patients all three custom laser platforms, VISX CustomeVue, Alcon LADARVision, and Bausch and Lomb Zyoptics. All are available with Bladeless IntraLASIK. These systems provide a highly accurate measurement of the optical defects in the eye and create a customized laser beam profile to correct each eye individually. In addition to LASIK, Dr. Donnenfeld also offers PRK and Epi-LASIK for laser vision correction. Although he stays on the cutting edge of advancements in refractive surgery technology, he is conservative in his approach to patient treatment. Each patient is given a meticulous examination and those who do not qualify are advised not to undergo surgery.

Dr. Donnenfeld received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College with highest honors including, Magna Cum Laude, Highest Distinction in Major and Rufus Choate Scholar. He earned his medical degree with honors, Alpha Omega Alpha, from Dartmouth Medical School. He performed his residency at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, where he was selected to serve as Chief Resident his final year. He completed specialty fellowship training in anterior segment and refractive surgery at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been selected as a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Donnenfeld is constantly called upon to train other surgeons and has personally trained more LASIK surgeons than any one else in the tri-state area. He plays a leadership role in many of the major ophthalmology and medical organizations.
