LASIK Surgery Fredericksburg – Serving patients seeking LASIK surgery in Fredericksburg and the surrounding Virginia areas
Access Eye’s medical director, Arash Mansouri, MD, has been an early adopter of laser vision correction procedures such as LASIK and PRK since the 90s. A first for the area, in 2012 Dr. Mansouri founded Access Eye’s dedicated Laser Vision Center with an onsite state-of-the-art excimer laser. The detailed, comprehensive and exact nature of the preoperative examinations and measurements taken at this center, the teams’ 40+ combined years of laser vision correction experience, and advanced instruments result in excellent surgical outcomes and high patient satisfaction.
More about Laser Vision Correction
Laser vision correction (such as LASIK and PRK) is performed to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism; in most cases it eliminates the need for eyeglasses and contacts. The excimer laser is used to reshape the curvature of the cornea (the front clear portion of the eye). With LASIK, a thin flap is painlessly created on the surface of the cornea and folded aside, the laser is used to reshape the underlying tissue, and the flap is replaced. In PRK, the corneal epithelium is gently and painlessly removed, the laser correction is then applied and the epithelium layer is allowed to naturally heal within a few days under the protection of a bandage contact lens.
Access Eye offers different variations of LASIK using state-of-the-art technology. Options include traditional LASIK, all-laser LASIK, wavefront-guided LASIK and its predecessor (PRK).
