More about LASEK at TOC EYE, Located in Long Island
The foundation of TOC Eye is a commitment to exceeding patient expectations and delivering superb, personalized care. Dr. Basilice and his team believe that every patient is entitled to be treated with compassion and respect.
Prior to LASEK treatment, the patient’s eyes are examined with VISX Advanced CustomVue technology. The technology captures the unique imperfections of the patient’s vision so the surgeon can customize treatment to the patient’s specific needs for better outcomes.
Before treatment begins, the patient’s eyes are numbed with anesthetic drops. The information collected by the CustomVue system is used to calibrate the laser that performs treatment. The laser carefully removes microscopic amounts of corneal tissue to improve the cornea’s curvature. This only takes a few seconds and is virtually painless for the patient.
Recovery is typically very quick after LASEK. Many patients notice almost-immediate results in their vision, and results continue to improve over a few days.
Often patients that are not candidates for the cutting surgery (LASIK) are able to undergo LASEK because it preserves the natural tissue of the eye. Advanced CustomVue LASEK can correct the imperfections of each individual’s vision and provide the patient with even better vision than is possible with glasses or contact lenses. LASEK can give you your very own individualized unique vision, fitted to you and you only!
