Cataract Surgery

Dr. Solomon uses the “no-needle, no-stitch, no-patch” technique and also offers a gentle laser-approach when performing cataract eye surgery. Before the procedure, he administers anesthetic eye drops to numb the area and to alleviate any discomfort the patient may feel during surgery. Then, he creates a small, self-sealing incision around the cornea through which he breaks apart and removes the clouded lens and replaces it with an intraocular lens (IOL). Patients with nearsightedness and presbyopia (age-related farsightedness) can choose from a variety of standard or premium IOLs provided by Dr. Solomon, including Toric IOLs to correct moderate to severe astigmatism as well as multifocal IOLs, which can reduce or eliminate dependence on glasses! The procedure is completed in a matter of minutes and many patients report improved vision within 24 hours.

Advanced Lens Replacement

In addition to cataract surgery, for patients over the age of 45 who may not have yet developed cataracts, Dr. Solomon provides Advanced Lens Replacement. This procedure is the same as cataract surgery, where the eye’s natural lens is removed and an artificial lens is implanted. However, with the absence of a developed cataract, the objective is to reduce or eliminate a patient’s dependence on glasses or contacts.

Dr. Solomon provides a full range of eye care services and advanced surgical vision restoration procedures at his state-of-the-art surgical suite in South Carolina.
