Providing cataract surgery with the Tecnis Symfony, Crystalens HD and AcrySof ReSTOR in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, Paradise Valley and the surrounding area
Jay Schwartz, DO, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training. Dr. Schwartz has performed more than 50,000 LASIK procedures and thousands of cataract surgeries, and has earned a reputation for excellence throughout the state of Arizona. As a testament to his surgical skills, Dr. Schwartz is the team ophthalmologist for several professional sports teams, including the Phoenix Suns, the Phoenix Coyotes and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Dr. Schwartz is proud to offer the most advanced cataract surgery procedures to his patients. To begin the procedure, he creates a small incision in the eye. Then, he extracts the clouded lens by breaking it up through a process known as phacoemulsification. Once the clouded lens is removed, he implants a premium intraocular lens implant (IOL).
Dr. Schwartz offers several types of intraocular lenses, including the Symfony extended-range-of-focus IOLs, Crystalens HD accommodating IOLs and multifocal AcrySof ReSTOR IOLs, to improve the patient’s ability to see objects both near and far. He offers toric IOLs, which correct pre-existing astigmatism.
Dr. Schwartz also offers Visian implantable collamer lenses (ICLs), which are placed over patients’ natural lenses. With Visian ICLs, patients can achieve clear vision and eliminate the need for eye glasses or contact lenses.
