The eye surgeons at Austin Eye perform advanced “no-stitch” cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs). The procedure is performed under local eye-drop anesthesia and takes about 10 to 20 minutes. During surgery, a self-sealing incision is created on the surface of the eye. Next, a technique called phacoemulsification is used to extract the eye’s cataract-diseased lens, which is then replaced with an artificial lens implant designed to provide clear vision at most distances. Austin Eye offers the most advanced IOLs, including Tecnis Multifocal, AcrySof ReSTOR, the accommodating Crystalens and astigmatism-correcting toric lenses.
In addition to “no-stitch” cataract surgery, Austin Eye is pleased to offer care for Austin cataract surgeon patients, using the advanced LenSx laser. They are the first and only practice to offer this modern technology.
