Providing cataract surgery with AcrySof ReSTOR IOLs in Valparaiso, South Bend and Northwest Indiana
Scott Buck, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in refractive and cataract surgery. Dr. Buck has performed hundreds of successful eye surgeries, earning a reputation for excellence throughout northwest Indiana. A pioneer in eye surgery procedures, he was one of the first residents at The Ohio State University to be trained in laser eye surgery.
Dr. Buck specializes in advanced “no-stitch, no-needle, no-patch” cataract surgery. To begin the procedure, he numbs patients’ eyes with anesthetic eye drops and creates a small, self-sealing incision in the eye. Then, he carefully extracts the clouded lens through the incision and replaces it with a premium intraocular lens implant (IOL). Dr. Buck uses the multifocal AcrySof ReSTOR IOL that can correct for nearsightedness, farsightedness and presbyopia, and the monofocal Toric IOL, which corrects for astigmatism.
In addition to cataract surgery, Dr. Buck performs eyelid surgery, eye muscle surgery, diabetic laser eye surgery, LASIK and Verisyse phakic intraocular lens implantation. Patients who suffer from severe myopia but are not good candidates for LASIK surgery often benefit greatly from Verisyse ICLs, which can help eliminate their dependence on eye glasses or contact lenses. Dr. Buck also offers optical and contact lens services, as well as comprehensive exams.
