Florida Eye Specialists staff

The surgical team at Florida Eye Specialists performs state-of-the-art laser cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs) when medically appropriate for the patient, for added precision, safety and comfort. To start the laser cataract procedure, the surgeon uses the FDA-approved LenSx femtosecond laser to make a micro-incision in the eye. Through this incision, the eye surgeon then uses a laser to break up the cataract-diseased lens into microscopic particles before gently flushing or suctioning them from the eye. The cataractous lens is replaced with an IOL to restore clear sight after surgery. Florida Eye Specialists offers a wide range of advanced IOLs, including astigmatism-correcting toric lenses as well as accommodating and multifocal IOLs, which allow patients to see well at multiple distances.

Laser cataract surgery is generally considered a painless procedure, thanks to topical anesthetic eye drops that are administered before surgery. Patients who undergo cataract surgery under the care of Florida Eye Specialists achieve a dramatic improvement in their vision. Depending on the type of IOL the patient chooses, he or she may be able to see clearly at several distances and, in certain cases, can greatly reduce or eliminate daily dependence on prescription eyewear.

In addition to laser cataract surgery, Florida Eye Specialists offers LASIK, PRK, corneal transplants, glaucoma treatments, cosmetic eyelid surgery and BOTOX Cosmetic and dermal filler treatments.

What Do Patients Say About Their Experiences With Florida Eye Specialists?

“No question that my eyesight has improved 100%. I can see long distance with great clarity, also everything is much brighter. I am glad I chose these eye doctors.” —Lance Lamport

“I consider it a miracle not to have to remember to have my glasses when leaving the house. I did not wear them all the time at home – only when I needed to read. I used to need them all the time for driving. God bless those responsible for this gift of sight that was available for me with cataract replacement.” —Nancy A. Wojcik

“Overall very satisfied with these lenses. I can read without aid, but I sometimes use some extra magnification on very small print. Good lighting makes reading normal sized print such as newspaper easier.” —Robert Jackson, DDS
