More about Vision Correction at Key-Whitman Eye Center

At Key-Whitman Eye Center, the team of talented vision professionals is dedicated to providing personalized, attentive service to each patient. The center’s surgeons personally meet with their patients, learn about patients’ goals and needs and address any concerns they might have. The doctors also provide honest, clear answers to all of their patients’ questions and explain the proposed procedures in great detail. This personalized, comprehensive approach alleviates patients’ anxiety and empowers them to make informed, independent decisions regarding their treatment.

In order to provide the best LASIK vision correction results possible, the surgeons at Key-Whitman Eye Center use many of the latest laser technologies. This includes the state-of-the-art Alcon WaveLight Refractive Suite, which incorporates advanced wavefront mapping technology. Wavefront mapping is a technological breakthrough that allows the surgeon to create a detailed 3-D map of the patient’s eye showing the irregularities that go undetected in traditional LASIK scans. After creating a flap in the patient’s cornea with the help of the IntraLase laser, the surgeon uses the 3-D map to precisely program the excimer laser, which gently reshapes the patient’s cornea. To ensure accurate application of the laser’s energy, Key-Whitman Eye Center’s laser platform includes active eye tracking technology, which follows the tiny, rapid movements of the patient’s eye and automatically repositions the laser accordingly. This sophisticated combination of laser technologies allows the center’s surgeons to perform highly customized, blade-free LASIK treatments that lead to better vision correction results.

In addition to performing LASIK, the skilled doctors at Key-Whitman Eye Center also have extensive experience treating corneal disease, glaucoma and cataracts. The center’s surgeons have been recognized for their experience and success implanting the Visian ICL, Symfony, Trulign, Crystalens, AcrySof ReSTOR, Tecnis and the Toric intraocular lens. At Key-Whitman Eye Center, patients can also receive routine eye care and choose from a variety of contact lenses and designer eyewear.
