Dr. Whitman and his colleagues strongly believe that a comprehensive, personalized approach to LASIK surgery greatly alleviates patients’ anxiety and allows them to make educated decisions. Therefore, each patient is offered a one-on-one consultation with one of the center’s eye surgeons. This consultation allows patients to discuss the treatment options and get their questions answered by an expert.

In order to achieve the best LASIK outcomes and customize each patient’s treatment, the surgeons of Key-Whitman Eye Center utilize a number of state-of-the-art surgical lasers, including the Alcon WaveLight Refractive Suite. This platform incorporates several leading-edge technologies for accurate vision correction procedures, including 3D eye mapping and eye tracking. The 3D mapping system uses wavefront technology to identify each patient’s unique refractive errors; this system is 25 times more precise than standard vision tests. The information obtained from the mapping system is used when correcting the shape of the cornea with the excimer laser. The LASIK procedure performed at Key-Whitman Eye Center also utilizes a blade-free laser technology called IntraLase. This laser is specifically designed to create the corneal flap without a surgical blade, thereby increasing comfort and safety.

Besides LASIK, the surgeons of Key-Whitman Eye Center offer treatments for corneal diseases and glaucoma, and perform cataract surgery with premium intraocular lens implants (IOLs), including AcrySof ReSTOR and Crystalens.
