Cataract surgery with AcrySof ReSTOR, Crystalens and Toric IOLs in San Diego

Dr. Richard Burns is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery procedures. Dr. Burns has achieved an exceptional surgical record over the course of his more than 25 years practicing in the field of ophthalmology. He is among the nation’s top 10 intraocular implant surgeons and is one of the few Southern California cataract surgeons who perform cataract surgery with Crystalens, toric (astigmatism-correcting) and multifocal AcrySof ReSTOR intraocular lens implants. Dr. Burns has earned a reputation for excellence in San Diego, Temecula, Hemet and the surrounding area due to his outstanding surgical skill and dedication to providing his patients with optimal care and results.

Dr. Burns is proud to offer advanced refractive cataract surgery procedures to his patients. The procedure begins with a small incision in the eye through which the clouded lens (cataract) is carefully extracted and replaced with an intraocular lens implant (IOL). Dr. Burns offers the multifocal ReSTOR lens, which corrects for near, intermediate and far distances, as well as the accommodating Crystalens, which improves the eye’s ability to change focus from near to distant objects. In addition, he offers Toric IOLs for patients with astigmatism.

Dr. Burns also offers laser vision correction procedures, including LASIK surgery, PRK, LASEK, LTK and refractive lens exchange (RLE), all of which can be used to provide patients with clearer vision and reduce their dependence on glasses and contact lenses.

Testimonials from Patients of Dr. Burns

“No one wants to go from bad vision to worse vision or even no vision; however, when a co-worker of mine recommended the Advanced Cataract Surgery and LASIK, I decided to set up a consultation. During the consultation the staff answered any and all questions my husband and I had. A week later, I was in and out of there in no time. The prep time took longer than the actual procedure. The most comforting part to me was that my husband was able to watch the surgery as Dr. Burns did the procedure. So thank you Dr. Burns, Tony and MaryLou for the ability to see for the first time in 16 years, without having to use glasses or contacts.” —Delilah Rozmus

“I waited a long time for my eye correction surgery and I did a great deal of research before I made a decision. Qualifications are always at the top of the list, but equally important to me was individual attention. Dr. Burns has all the appropriate qualifications and experience. He takes all the time I need to answer questions and talk about this new experience of seeing well again without my glasses. He is the best and he is a wonderfully nice and caring man.” —Cynthia Heath Kerrigan
