Thomas J. Chowattukunnel, MD, received both his bachelors and medical degrees from Indiana University. He completed his ophthalmology residency with Indiana University’s Department of Ophthalmology. As a skilled cataract surgeon, Dr. Chowattukunnel has helped hundreds of patients restore their vision by utilizing the most advanced cataract removal techniques and technology. Dr. Chowattukunnel also specializes in glaucoma treatment, including advanced laser surgery. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Michael J. Hodkin, MD, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and his medical degree from the University of Florida School of Medicine. Dr. Hodkin completed his residency at the University of Michigan and a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. His medical specialties include cataract surgery, multifocal and toric lens implants, refractive surgery, and corneal transplants. The experienced ophthalmologist is an active member of the several prestigious organizations including the American Medical Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. Dr. Hodkin is a respected ophthalmologist who has authored several research articles focusing on advances in the ophthalmology and has presented his work at international eye meetings.
Michael J. Scanameo, MD, FACS earned his bachelor’s degree from Cooper Union in New York City and his medical degree from State University of New York Health Science Center. Dr. Scanameo completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center where he was also Chief Resident Ophthalmologist. With 15 years of experience, Dr. Scanameo has focused on cataract surgery including multifocal and accommodating lens implants to correct distance and near vision, as well as refractive and glaucoma surgery. The board certified doctor is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Rita K. Singh, MD, earned her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Singh completed her residency and fellowship in ophthalmology at the University of Michigan’s Kellogg Eye Center. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of several eye conditions and diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular holes and retinal detachment repair. Dr. Singh is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists and Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology.
Karen S. Skurner, OD, completed both her bachelors and medical degrees at Indiana University and her residency in ocular disease at the Faust Eye Center. Dr. Skurner also completed a fellowship with Christian Optometrists. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Skurner has diagnosed and treated hundreds of patients with glaucoma and other eye diseases and specializes in elderly patient care. She currently serves as an adjunct faculty member of Indiana University School of Optometry. Dr. Skurner is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association.
James B. Stewart, OD, FAAO, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Evansville in Indiana, where he also completed his residency in ocular disease. He received his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Optometry and served as the Director of Optometry at Omni Eye Services of Chattanooga. Dr. Stewart specializes in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease and medical management of glaucoma. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, and East Central Optometric Association.
